The design development is our core business, from the feasibility study to the design transfer. Once collected the desired specifications and defined the technology limits, we plan the design development, investigating reference market and state-of-the-art solutions.
We identify one or more development models, applications and intended uses, we perform calculations, design estimates and multiphysical simulations, we analyse risks and regulatory constraints, we evaluate materials, manufacturing methods and bench tests setup and we monitor the key solutions and parameters during the whole product design evolution.

TORET evaluates the compliance of your prototype to the essential safety and performance requirements demanded by Regulations and Directives in force in the European Economic Area (e.g. Reg. 2017/745 Medical Devices, Dir. 2014/35 Low Voltage, 2014/30 EMC, Dir. 2006/42 Machinery) and by the respective transpositions and national laws. Moreover, we examine the impact of any other applicable regulatory constraints (e.g. CLP, GHS). We analyse and evaluate the risks associated with the use of your prototype, following the main international standards (ISO 14971, ISO 12100) and the peculiar technical requirements (e.g. IEC 60601, IEC 62304, IEC 61010). Once the critical issues have been identified, we propose the most effective and sustainable corrective actions, such as design changes, risk control measures and information and warnings for the user.
In particular, for medical devices, we perform the regulatory analysis in accordance with the classification and scientifically relevant requirements. The clinical evaluation is performed applying the main international guidelines (MEDDEV, GHTF), the functional and performance tests are planned based on the preclinical requirements and the user manual includes the updated technical description, instructions, sequence of operations and user information and warnings.

Already founder of DETECTOR srl, manufacturer of particle detectors for medical and industrial applications, he establishes TORET in June 2019, the fifth company controlled by TERA Gruppo Tecnologie Avanzate, with operational headquarters in Turin. Experimental physicist, already author of numerous publications with the Turin group of the National Institute of Nuclear Physics, from 2004 to 2009 he worked on the development of accelerators for radiotherapy at CERN and actively participated in the collaboration between foundations and research bodies that contributed to the realisation of the National Center of Oncological Hadrontherapy of Pavia. Over the years he has led about 50 research projects, many of which have become finished products, sharing enthusiasm and resourcefulness with his employees and building a solid network of collaborators, suppliers and scientific partners.
Industrial engineer, he gets the BSc degree at the University of Rome and the MSc degree in Biomedical Engineering at the Politecnico di Torino. In 2012 he collaborates with the Institute of Cancer Research and Treatment of Turin. Winner of the 2013 CRT announcement in Medical physics and Bioengineering, he moves at CERN, taken up by linear accelerator and monitoring system of charged particle beams at the TERA Foundation. Meanwhile, he obtains a MSc in Economics and Business Management. Already design development manager in DETECTOR from 2015 to 2019, he is qualified in clinical evaluation and risk management of medical devices and industrial equipment. Experienced in feasibility studies, technology transfer and industrial development, he has an accurate eye for applied research and design-driven innovation, with an interdisciplinary approach and a proactive temperament.
Back in Italy after 5 years of experience abroad, he joins the TORET team to mainly take care of the software development. Starting from a pure particle physics background, with bachelor and master degrees obtained at the University of Turin in 2011 and 2013, he began his research path at CERN in Geneva, before moving to Lyon for three years of doctoral studies in medical physics in the LabEx PRIMES excellence program. During this period, he cultivated his interest in technology and software design, in particular for numerical simulation methods and scientific analysis. Enterprising and enthusiast, he never stops learning and testing new approaches for the development of original ideas.
Engineer, she worked as medical physicist for 5 years in Buenos Aires. In 2016 she moved to Italy where she graduated in nuclear physics at the Università di Trieste and obtained her MsC at the International Centre for Teorethical Physics. Passionate for clinical research and application engineering, she is currently ending the specialisation school in Medical Physics at the Università di Torino, and dealing with a clinical residency at the AOU Modena hospital for TERA group.
